INDIAN team announced for ICC cricket worldcup 2011

Indian team for World Cup Cricket 2011 have been announced with some surprising inclusions and some shocking exclusions.
Interestingly 3 spinners has been included  in the team.

The shocking decision is leg-break bowler Piyush Chawla and tall off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been choosed for worldcup 15 players squad but  some other players have been left out like Rohit Sharma and
s Sreesanth from 15-strong Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2011.


Krishnamachari Srikant said,



“Spinners will play a major role in the sub-continent. That's why we have picked up three spinners in the squad. I hope this team will match the performance of the 1983 World Cup winning team. I am hopeful that we will win the World Cup. This team has some great players and we have done well consistently, both in India and abroad."


There are 8 batsmen and 4 fast bowlers also included in the team.


Though four of their star players, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and pacer Praveen Kumar  are on the injured list, the selectors, who met in Chennai yesterday, named all of them in the 15-member squad hoping that they will be fit in time for the World Cup next month.


Indian WC Squad: MS Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag (vice captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Ashish Nehra, Praveen Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yusuf Pathan.
